Our Nursery School is situated at the Upanga and Kijitonyama campuses
Curriculum Overview
Our nursery program offers a child-centered, well-integrated curriculum designed to provide meaningful learning experiences while nurturing a lifelong love for learning. The curriculum focuses on the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of every child, fostering imagination, curiosity, logical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a strong foundation of general knowledge.
Personal, Social, and Emotional Development
We help children build positive relationships, practice good social behavior, and develop self-discipline and strong moral values. Teachers encourage independence and confidence while reinforcing these important life skills in daily activities at school.
Communication, Language, and Literacy
English is the primary medium of instruction at our school. Children are given opportunities to express themselves through group discussions, “Show and Tell” sessions, role play, and interactive classroom activities.
-
We use the Phonics approach to build strong reading and comprehension skills, following the Letterland International Phonics Program from Cambridge.
-
Our well-stocked library inspires our students to develop early reading and listening skills. Children borrow books weekly and enjoy engaging story sessions to enhance their love for reading.
Mathematical Skill Development
Our hands-on approach introduces children to basic mathematical concepts, including shapes, patterns, measurement, pairing, matching, sorting, and numeracy. Lessons are interactive and fun, making math an exciting part of their daily learning.
Science Exploration
Through a Thematic Approach, children explore various science topics practically and engagingly. Learning comes to life with projects, experiments, nature walks, field trips, arts and crafts, and interactive worksheets, helping students connect theory with real-world experiences.
Physical Development
Physical activity is an integral part of our curriculum. Under the guidance of our qualified Sports instructors, children build gross motor skills, balance, agility, coordination, and strength.
Swimming sessions further enhance physical development, build confidence in water, and teach basic swimming skills in a safe and supervised environment.
Digital Skills and Technology
Weekly computer lessons introduce children to basic IT concepts and interactive digital learning. We use the Twinkl Educational Program (UK) to enhance skills in an age-appropriate, engaging, and fun manner.
